Kymar is a competence company. We will be the best total supplier and service partner within electrical, automation and electromechanical rotating equipment - while supporting a more sustainable industry and the electrification of society. We take “our own medicine” and work actively to reduce negative impacts on the environment and society. Scrapping and recycling of electric motors takes place in collaboration with ABB and Stena Recycling.

In the service of the electric motor since 1945
In Hamburg, at the very end of the war, Frank Coates studied with Ferdinand Porsche. The latter visited Coates in Moss – which is perhaps why ElektroMek began working on dynamos and electric starters for cars.
Asea-Per Kure, one of the forerunners of Kymar, built his first workshop in Rogaland at Lura in 1973.
- Originally consisted of two companies in the industrial region of Østfold: ElektroMek, later including Coates Elektromor, was established by Frank Coates in 1945 and ABB Service
- The expertise has survived a series of name and ownership changes.
- 2009: Lønne Skandinavia acquires both companies and merges them into Lønne Service
- 2013: The parent company Lønne Skandinavia was sold
- 2015: Lønne Service changes its name to Kymar
- 2019: Kymar is sold to Ulf R. Pettersen who owns and manages the company today.
